In my blog today, I want to share some of the things I have learned so far in my communication class. I believe this will also be a great way to memorize the things I am learning.

I have learned so far, communication requires skills and practices. Communication consists of many styles, there is also nonverbal communication to where you’re not speaking. No matter what it is you are wanting to be in life, learning communication skills is important. Why is it important? If you want to be successful, communicating effectively is needed to do so.

Nonverbal communication

Nonverbal communication is not through an exchange of words, but moreover physical ques. Sign language is an example of how we communicate without speaking. Audiences engage more about what you have to say when you professionally present yourself. Proper stance, no slouching and having eye contact is a form of nonverbal communication. Nonverbal communication is just as important as verbal communication.

Importance of communication

In every professional career, learning communications will be a big help in becoming successful. The way we interact with one another is type of communication. But processing or delivering the information accurately is what makes communication important. Poor communication leads to many negative outcomes. I have also given or receive poor communication, I became frustrated because now I’m doing double the work when it could’ve been completed.

Recently in my latest units, we have discuss Interpersonal communications, this is when people come together to exchange information face to face. We are to explain how the influence of Culture affects Interpersonal communication in an organization. A successful organization knows what it takes to execute the game plan.

Everyday interactions within your family or culture, is different than socializing outside. When building an organization, understanding everyone’s beliefs, values, and expectations can help plan. Face to face communicating is a great way to start, this allows you to get a better understanding of one another. With different cultures, individuals may not agree on certain things. Expectations and their way of working may also be different.

Being able to understand one another, you start having fewer conflicts within the organization. However, it is not uncommon for having misleading informations. As we are human beings we all make errors. Even a computer can have errors, nothing is perfect. But by performing and working with fewer errors you’re headed to the competition list.
